Luxury detached house in the Serra de Tramuntana
In the heart of Puigpunyent, nestled amidst the natural beauty of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, lies this exclusive detached house with a swimming pool in Mallorca, completed in 2022. This high-end villa was conceived to reinterpret the essence of the traditional Mallorcan estate (possessió) from a contemporary perspective, combining architectural tradition with innovative construction techniques. This project consolidates our expertise in building exclusive villas in Mallorca, integrating design, energy efficiency, and seamless integration with the landscape.
A reinterpreted Mallorcan possessió
The client's premise was clear: to create a home with the presence, authenticity, and character of a traditional Mallorcan estate (possessió), but adapted to the current demands of comfort, functionality, and sustainability. The architecture doesn't replicate the past, but rather reinterprets it through bold and well-proportioned volumes, masonry and natural stone facades, and natural-colored Mallorcan tile roofs. Noble materials and traditional construction techniques are combined with modern technology to shape a luxury villa in Puigpunyent, seamlessly integrated into the landscape. The result is a modern home with a traditional soul, where architecture and nature engage in a harmonious dialogue.
Construction system and technical efficiency
The structure combines prestressed concrete joist floors, solid slabs, and horizontal timber floors, along with vertical concrete and steel columns, ensuring structural stability and technical precision. The ceramic brick walls, sprayed polyurethane insulation, and exterior masonry cladding provide excellent thermal performance and an aesthetic consistent with traditional Mallorcan architecture. The Mallorcan tile roofs over a waterproof membrane and insulated panels reinforce both the architectural identity and year-round energy efficiency.
High-quality materials and finishes
The selection of materials reflects criteria of authenticity, durability, and aesthetic coherence. Gray Zarci stone flooring and natural oak wood provide warmth and continuity, while the cladding in gray Zarci stone and Santanyí stone reinforces the local character. Interior woodwork in iroko, exterior joinery combining steel and wood, Mallorcan pine shutters, and handcrafted iron and stainless steel hardware solidify the identity of a reinterpreted traditional estate. The interiors, finished in lime stucco, add texture and depth, reinforcing the Mediterranean aesthetic. Outside, handmade terracotta paving, natural stone, and river cobblestones, along with Santanyí stone surrounds and cornerstones, complete the image of a contemporary estate.
Landscape integration and Mediterranean lifestyle
The placement on the plot, the orientation of the house, the terraces, and the private pool have all been designed to maximize views, natural light, and connection with the natural surroundings of Puigpunyent. The architecture does not impose itself on the landscape, but rather adapts to it through stone walls, native vegetation, and natural materials that allow the building to blend seamlessly with the mountain and the Mediterranean forest.
Villa Puigpunyent represents our ability to develop luxury single-family homes in Mallorca that combine Mallorcan identity, contemporary design and construction excellence in protected environments and high landscape value.
