Contemporary reinterpretation of Mallorcan architecture
These villas were conceived with the aim of reinterpreting traditional Mallorcan architecture through a contemporary lens, respecting the landscape and minimizing the visual impact of large-scale residences. Inspired by the Mallorcan courtyard house typology, with roots in the Roman domus, each home is organized around a large central courtyard that acts as the structural and emotional core of the project. This space serves as the heart of the home, an intimate and sunny refuge in winter, as well as a natural cross-ventilation system in summer. Thanks to this configuration, the connection between interior and exterior is enhanced, creating a profoundly Mediterranean residential experience.
Volumetric fragmentation and local identity
To reduce the perceived scale and enhance integration with the landscape, each villa is fragmented into independent volumes, creating a more organic and balanced architectural impression. The selection of materials reinforces the local identity and the overall aesthetic coherence. Dry stone, local limestone, Santanyí stone, and Mallorcan marés stone coexist with traditional white facades in the Mediterranean style. Each volumetric combination transforms the homes into unique pieces, like a collection of Mallorcan architectural styles reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.
Green roofs and landscape sustainability
Green roofs, cultivated with Mediterranean species and seeds recovered from the site itself, transform into gardens that cascade down the walls, connecting with the traditional Mallorcan margs and visually integrating with the sea. This strategy allows for the recovery of the landscape's original vegetation and minimizes the visual impact from both the surrounding area and the Mediterranean, reinforcing the commitment to sustainability and environmental integration.
