We are proud to announce that, in a joint venture with the company Obras y Pavimentos Man, we have been awarded the contract for the project promoted by the Conselleria de Salut in the iconic building on Calle Cecilio Metelo, in Palma.
The Palma City Council has recently granted these works a declaration of municipal interest. This administrative boost reinforces the progress of a project of great heritage and social value.
The building, constructed in 1936 and attributed to architect Josep Alomar, has a surface area of 2,772 m² and is listed for its historical significance. Many residents of Palma remember this space as the place where they received their childhood vaccinations, which adds a strong emotional component to its restoration.
The Conselleria de Salut has planned a comprehensive renovation to restore its use after years of inactivity. Priority will be given to healthcare use, without ruling out a section open to the public with health-related exhibitions. The possibility of locating the Conselleria de Salut there is also being considered.
The intervention will include specialized work, such as archaeological supervision, given the location of possible remains of the Renaissance wall and an air-raid shelter in the area.
At Construcciones Llull Sastre, we are taking on this new challenge with a sense of responsibility, aware of the importance of restoring a building with such symbolic and functional significance for the city of Palma.
