The team from Construcciones Llull Sastre SAU, together with Melchor Mascar\u00f3 SAU, has participated in the execution of the Lobster Club Portals, a project of the Capuccino group that stands out for its unique architecture and technical complexity, as it is built directly on the port’s breakwater.<\/p>\n\n
The foundation has been one of the biggest challenges of the project. To stabilize the ground, it was necessary to remove part of the existing riprap and install 3.8 kilometers of micropiles, injecting up to 500 tons of cement. The entire foundation was carefully waterproofed to protect the concrete and reinforcement from the effects of seawater, and anti-corrosion passive treatments were also applied. <\/p>\n\n
Circular and square pillars rise from this base, supporting the upper floor, which features a wide promenade and the building housing the restaurant. This structure is notable for its undulating concrete roof, designed by the architects Morro Serra Morro, which replicates the shape of a wave and extends to the ground via a curved wall supported by truncated conical pillars. <\/p>\n\n
The construction of this roof required a completely handcrafted process. A special formwork was built, upon which wooden ribs were placed every 60 cm, joined by transverse planks that allowed the complex three-dimensional geometry to be shaped. All the formwork, for both the roof and the curved walls, was done manually, highlighting the specialized work of the formwork carpenters from Siurell Obra Civil. <\/p>\n\n
The design is completed with finishes that reinforce its integration with the marine environment. The upper part of the deck features a rough texture and sand color, evoking the surface of a beach, while the underside is clad with TECU\u00ae copper sheets, which take on an aquamarine hue similar to the seabed. <\/p>\n\n
The panoramic building extends over the existing breakwater and blends seamlessly into the landscape thanks to its curved forms and the adaptation of all construction elements\u2014paving, railings, and woodwork\u2014to the architectural design.
