The team of Construcciones Llull Sastre S.A.U. has carried out in record time the refurbishment, extension and change of category of the Hotel Whala Isabela, located on the seafront of Santa Ponça beach. The execution of this work has been divided into two parts which have been carried out at the same time, the renovation of the existing building and the construction of a new building. The existing building, which consists of 156 rooms, has been completely refurbished, changing the floor to vinyl flooring, tiling, interior carpentry, installations, exterior carpentry and change of furniture. In compliance with energy efficiency regulations, the façade has been painted with thermal paint which, together with the new exterior carpentry and the change to Q-RAILING type railings, has given the building a modern and light appearance. Rooms overlooking the sea, on the first floor, have also been equipped with terraces. In this same building, the entire ground floor has been refurbished to house the common areas, reception, buffet, kitchen, bar, dining room, machine room and the entire outdoor terrace with solarium and swimming pool. For the construction of the new building, a special foundation with more than 1.5 km of micro piles, the concrete structure, masonry and finishing work was carried out. All this in a record time of six months. This new building consists of 27 spacious suite-style rooms and a gymnasium. The complexity of this type of work lies basically in time, with very limited deadlines and a very significant volume of work, especially if new buildings are to be constructed.
